Smart Transit LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable EV Bus Terminal Operator to manage operations at our electric bus terminal. This individual will be responsible for assisting the smooth arrival and departure of electric buses, ensuring they are properly charged and ready for service.
The ideal candidate is a licensed electrician, holds a valid driver’s license, and is willing to upgrade their license to operate buses when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the arrival and departure of electric buses at the terminal.
- Ensure all EV buses are connected to chargers and charged according to operational schedules.
- Operate and maintain EV fast chargers, troubleshoot charging issues, and escalate to Terminal Operations Supervisor when necessary.
- Coordinate with the scheduling and maintenance teams to ensure buses are available, clean, and roadworthy.
- Monitor charging station health and report major faults.
- Assist with bus positioning within the terminal yard as required and ensure safe parking and alignment for charging.
- Assist maintaining daily logs of bus movements, charging times, charger usage, and any anomalies.
- Support implementation of safety protocols and ensure compliance with all workplace safety standards.

Qualifications:
- Certified Electrician or equivalent Diploma from Technical Institute with experience in high-voltage or commercial electrical systems.
- Valid driver’s license (Class B or equivalent) and willingness to obtain a Class D license to operate commercial buses (training/support can be provided).
- Residing near or willing to relocate closer to Smart Transit Oyarifa terminal location
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate complex terminal operations.
- Comfortable working outdoors and during early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required.
- Basic computer skills for logging data and communicating with operations teams.
- Physically fit and able to perform duties that may include moving vehicles and handling heavy equipment
- Must live in Accra, ideally near the Oyarifa area
- (Bonus) Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with EV charging infrastructure, particularly fast chargers.
