Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Developer to lead the design, development, and implementation of custom solutions within the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in AX development, system integration, and business process optimization. This role will require a hands-on approach to coding, troubleshooting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and continued system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Development: Design, develop, and deploy custom solutions in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012, including X++ coding, reports, and interface integrations.
• Customization & Configuration: Customize AX modules to meet business needs, configure functionality within AX 2012, and integrate with third-party systems.
• System Integration: Work on integration projects involving Dynamics AX 2012 and other systems such as CRM, SharePoint, and third-party APIs.
• Performance Optimization: Identify areas for performance improvements, debug existing code, and implement enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
• Support and Troubleshooting: Provide ongoing support for AX users, troubleshoot issues, and deliver timely resolutions to system or functional problems.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Write clear technical documentation, maintain code quality standards, and ensure that all work follows best practices.
• Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior developers, providing guidance on development practices and technical problem-solving.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, and project managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Upgrade Management: Assist in the upgrade or migration process from AX 2012 to newer versions like Dynamics 365, ensuring smooth transitions.

Required Skills or Experience

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Developer, with a strong focus on X++ programming, customization, and system integration.
• Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 architecture, modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain Management, Sales & Marketing), and development tools (X++, AOT).
• System Integration: Experience with integrating AX with external systems such as SQL Server, web services, APIs and other inhouse developed applications.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Knowledge of Best Practices: Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile methodology, and best practices in AX 2012 development.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders and end-users.
• Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and other technical teams.
• Upgrade/Transition Experience: Experience with AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 upgrade projects is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Dynamics AX Developer or similar certifications.
• Experience with Other ERP Systems: Experience with other ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics 365 is a plus.
• Knowledge of Modern Development Tools: Familiarity with tools like Visual Studio, Power BI, or other reporting solutions integrated with AX is a plus.
