The Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching (KATH), a leading public healthcare institution in Ghana, is inviting applications from suitable, qualified and motivated professionals for two key management position: Director of Allied Health
Summary of Job/Functions
This role involves providing leadership, strategic direction, coordination, supervision and expert professional advice on Allied Health Services to KATH management. It also includes coordinating and supervising research and training of specialist and postgraduate Allied Health professionals in collaboration with recognized institutions
Main Duties and Responsibilities include
- Coordinating and guiding the development of short, medium and long-term plans and budgets for Allied Health Services
- Developing and implementing systems for adherence to Allied Health Science governance and infection control
- Supporting, monitoring and evaluating programs and projects to promote clinical care effectiveness
- Developing systems for reviewing interventions, financing and resource allocation
- Leading the development and management of clinical information systems
- Developing and implementing clinical care field programs, ensuring effectiveness and sustainability
- Supervising technical support for Allied Health Services activities and program implementation partners
- Ensuring the design and application of support, monitoring and evaluation systems
- Meeting strategic goals through leadership and management of Allied Health Services

General Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for either position must demonstrate
- Excellent leadership skills, ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary teams
- Broad knowledge and understanding of health policies, operating procedures and health sector quality assurance issues
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and team player skills
- Ability to work independently, manage workload under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong problem-solving, advocacy and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in report writing and good computer literacy
- Self-discipline, emotional stability, conflict management skills and a methodological approach to work
- Goal-oriented and honest disposition
Qualification Required & Experience
- At least a Master’s degree in Allied Health Science with a first Degree in any relevant Allied Health field from a recognized University
- Must have an Allied Health Science speciality and be in good standing with the Allied Health professionals council of Ghana.
- Postgraduate qualification in the primary profession or a qualification in health administration or management
- A minimum of 10 years of working experience as an Allied Health Professional in the health sector, with at least 5 years at a management level
- Must be at least Deputy Chief/Deputy Director Grade at the time of application
- At least a certification in Health Leadership and Management or Public Administration, or equivalent
- Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development
