Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Data Engineer to join our team in Ghana. The ideal candidate will have experience working with large datasets, building and optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring the availability and quality of data for analytics and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
- Optimize data systems for performance and scalability.
- Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across different sources and systems.
- Work with cloud platforms and tools (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) to manage data infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting for data workflows.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of data engineering practices.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend).
- Experience with big data tools and frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Exposure to machine learning workflows and model deployment.
- Experience with real-time data processing technologies.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
