Summary of functions:

  • Provision of reliable and secure driving services and the proper use of the vehicle
  • Day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle and the secure storage of relevant documents/ supplies
  • Immediate action in case of an accident
  • Support the Administrative Department with facility maintenance.
  • Provides reliable and secure driving services and ensures the proper use of the vehicle by:
  • Driving vehicles safely for the transport of authorised personnel and, in the case of peacekeeping missions, for the transport of cargo goods and/or hazardous goods vehicles
  • collecting and delivering mail, documents and other items
  • Meeting official personnel at the airport and facilitating immigration and customs formalities as required
  • Ensures proper use of the vehicle by maintaining accurate daily vehicle logs and providing input for vehicle maintenance plans and reports to ensure proper vehicle use.
  • Ensures the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle
  • By checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc.
  • Performing minor repairs and arranging for major repairs
  • And ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean at all times
  • Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies, including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
  • Ensures that immediate steps as required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
  • Support the Administrative Department by:
  • Assist in obtaining quotations for the purchase of office supplies, etc.
  • The Inspection and distribution of inventories/stock and maintenance of inventory records
  • Ensuring that the office equipment is running at optimum levels by undertaking periodic equipment repair and maintenance as per the respective maintenance schedules
  • Timely reviews of Utility details and providing details for relevant actions to be taken
  • Engaging the right artisans to undertake minor/Adhoc works & repairs in the office premises
  • Maintaining a roster of professional artisans to carry out various works on the premises
  • Prompt attendance to repair requests by staffEnsures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
  • Ensures that immediate steps as required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident

Education/Experience/Language requirements:

Education:

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalent; drivers training with a valid driver's license is required.

Experience:

  • 2 years of relevant experience as a driver
  • Safe driving record
  • Knowledge of driving rules and regulations
  • Skills in minor vehicle repairs

Language Requirements:

Full working knowledge of English is required.
