Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is a non-governmental policy and research organization dedicated to discovering and advancing what works to improve the lives of people living in poverty. Combining technical rigor, immediate policy interest, and a solid grounding in the needs of the poor, IPA’s work helps practitioners better allocate their resources and improve their operations. IPA has been fully registered and working in Ghana since 2009.

Job Description

  • Job Title: Enumerator
  • Location: Greater Accra.
  • Deadline to apply: 7th August, 2025 (reviewed on a rolling basis)
  • Desired start date: 25th August, 2025
  • Language requirement: Twi, Dangme, Ewe, Ga

IPA is looking to recruit Enumerators to manage field activities on a new research project. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position mentioned above.

Reports to: Field Manager

The Enumerator will be engaged in quantitative data collection in the Greater Accra Region.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys with selected study participants
  • Conduct EGRA/EGMA assessments for selected learners
  • Conduct Classroom observations in selected schools
  • Liaison with Research Associate/Field Manager and other immediate supervisors
  • Perform other duties related to the project that may be assigned
  • Adhere to all IPA survey and data protocols

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a first degree in any field or its equivalent from a reputable institution with at least one year of field/data collection experience
  • Experience conducting quantitative field activities in a school environment
  • Experience conducting student assessment exercises (EGRA/EGMA)
  • Fluency in English is a must
  • Ability to speak any or a combination of the following languages: Twi, Dangme, Ewe, Ga
  • Familiarity with administering interviews using SurveyCTO is an added advantage.
  • Must be a resident in Accra and surrounding areas during the period of data collection

Note

  • There will be an aptitude test and interviews for external shortlisted candidates.
  • Trainees who perform best at the surveyor training will be considered for an auditor position.
  • Being a resident of Accra is preferable.
