Main Purpose:
The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for overseeing and executing key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and finance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/Ghana Revenue Authority.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate posting of journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Coordinate the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Support tax filings and liaise with tax consultants to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
Requirements & Skills?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multinational or audit environment. Agriculture industry experience is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
