Asante Gold Corporation is a gold exploration, development and operating company with a high-quality portfolio of projects and mines in Ghana. Asante is currently operating the Bibiani and Chirano Gold Mines and continues with detailed technical studies at its Kubi Gold Project for early production.
All mines and projects are located on the prolific Bibiani and Ashanti Gold Belts. Asante is also exploring its Keyhole, Fahiakoba, and Betenase projects for new discoveries, all adjoining or along strike of major gold mines near the centre of Ghana’s Golden Triangle. Our experienced team members are our most precious asset, having discovered, explored and developed more than 24Moz of gold resources and reserves in Ghana; and having managed Ghana’s largest underground mine.
About This Role
To ensure the reliability and efficient operation of Heavy equipment & trucks essential for operations.
Responsible for executing maintenance and repair jobs on Underground and Surface equipment (HMUE) and facilities as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively promote Safety culture and Hazard awareness
- Maintain production goals and objectives as a team
- Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance.
- Practice and promote company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures
- Actively participate in CGML Continuous Improvement program
- Assist in the development and improvement of equipment maintenance strategies
- Ensure that all maintenance work is focused on continuous improvement and carried out in a safe and environmentally sound manner
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults accurately.
- Read and prepare working drawings and be able to identify and order spares
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance
- Have a good knowledge of Hydraulic Systems, Compressed Air, Bearing Specifications and Mechanical Drive Systems
- Have knowledge and understanding of lubricants and lubrication systems
- Liaise with and instruct contractors as and when required
- Provide support to the electrical and Operations teams as and when required
- Send oil samples to Maintenance Planning office as per established practices
- Control of using materials and supplies, to achieve cost effective work
- Report to supervisor upon seeing any defects and/or improper thing
- Being able to work with little or no supervision, following technical instructions; but to ask in case of any doubt without taking risks
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in all equipment and working areas
- Other duties as reasonably assigned.

Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies
- Diploma or HND in Mechanical Engineering with 2 – 5 years relevant experience on heavy machines.
- Must have 5 – 10 years of experience in the underground mining maintenance field.
- Has the skill of quality job execution, and able to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues, other Departments
- Ability to work in a team.
- Possess a valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with good and defensive driving skills.
