Job Description

Qatar Charity – Ghana Office invites candidates to apply for the following positions:

  • Title:   Site Engineer (4 posts)
  • Location:   Tamale, Ghana
  • Report to:   Programs Manager
  • Contract duration:  Short-term Contract (6 months)
  • Deadline for application:    May 26, 2025.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Site Engineer (SE) will be responsible for supervising the field work for QC project activities. S/He will supervise the projects in accordance with the highest standards of the profession and ensure adherence to Qatar Charity procedures and regulations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Supervision of works on site in accordance with contract documents, drawings, technical specifications etc.; ensuring correct implementation of works according to contract, design, quality of materials & workmanship.
  • Ensuring that health and safety measures are adopted and properly complied with
  • Study and verify extent of work done and provide a report to the Engineer
  • Informing Engineer of any problem which may arise with the Contractor
  • Review and assess valuations of payments requested by contractors and follow up the proceedings for the contractor payments as per QC system.
  • Implement and maintain overall monitoring concerning actual and work progress compared to scheduled, provide information and technical periodical reports to projects officer as per QC system and procedures.
  • Maintain a proper archiving and documents control system for all related projects documentation.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering and construction fields or any other related field, with strong post-qualification experience (minimum 2 years in the related field)
  • Arabic Language skills will be considered as added value, but it’s not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with a flexible approach to managing and prioritising a high workload and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience of working with the team.
  • Professional computer Skills, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • An understanding of and commitment to QC’s mission and values
