The Careers and Internship Placement Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing career development and internship placement services for students and recent graduates. This role serves as a key link between the institution, students, and industry partners to facilitate meaningful employment and internship opportunities.

The coordinator will work closely with academic departments, corporate partners, and alumni to provide career counseling, organize job readiness workshops, and coordinate internship programs that align with students' academic backgrounds and career aspirations. The position requires strong relationship management, organisational, and communication skills to ensure a seamless transition for students from education to employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Career Development & Student Support

  • Provide career counseling, CV review, and job interview preparation support to students.
  • Organize career-related workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on job readiness.
  • Manage the delivery of career assessments and one-on-one career coaching.

Internship & Job Placement

  • Identify and establish internship and job placement opportunities with local and international employers.
  • Coordinate internship matching, placement logistics, and performance monitoring for students.
  • Liaise with academic departments to ensure placements align with program requirements.
  • Maintain internship database for purposes of tracking candidate progress
  • Plan and conduct internship workshops and information programs.

Employer & Industry Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, alumni, NGOs, and government agencies.
  • Develop and update a robust employer database for internship and employment placements.
  • Host employer engagement events, such as career fairs, industry panels, and recruitment drives.
  • Conduct surveys/ feedback to ensure student and employer satisfaction.

Program Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track student placement outcomes and employer feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare periodic reports on career services metrics.
  • Ensure all internship placements comply with institutional and legal standards.
  • Prepare reports on job placement activities and outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in career services, talent acquisition, or student affairs.
  • Strong understanding of the current labor market and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with career services or CRM platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
