JOB POSTING: SECURITY CONTROL ROOM SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT: SECURITY

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: PERMANENT
CLOSING DATE: 28TH MAY 2025
ROLE PURPOSE
The role of the Security Control Room Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and monitoring operations of surveillance systems by contractor staff to ensure the safety and security of personnel, assets, and operations within the mining site. This role requires vigilance, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.
Key Accountabilities
- Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
- Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
- Monitor live and recorded footage from the CCTV surveillance system to identify unusual or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly to alarms, alerts, or system abnormalities.
- Operate and maintain CCTV systems, ensuring all cameras and equipment are functioning optimally.
- Coordinate with on-ground security personnel to investigate incidents and ensuring swift action is taken to avoid potential threats.
- Maintain logs and records of security activities and incidents.
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to team members.
- Ensure compliance with privacy laws and company policies related to CCTV usage while conducting periodic audits of control room processes.

- Assist in the retrieval and analysis of recorded footage for incident investigations.
- Report any malfunctions or technical issues with the CCTV system to the technical team for prompt resolution.
- Collaborate with technical teams for equipment upgrades and maintenance.
- Participate in periodic training sessions and drills related to security protocols and emergency response.
- Support other security operations as required.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on control room performance and issues.
- Schedule shifts and assign duties to ensure adequate coverage.
- Manage and oversee the performance of control room operators.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence within the team.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Diploma or equivalent certificate in security operations or related fields.
- Diploma in CCTV/ Control Room Operation or equivalent; additional training in security systems is an advantage.
Experience
- Previous experience as a CCTV operator or in a related security role with at least three (3) years’ experience.
People And Technical Skills
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting CCTV and electronic security systems.
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
