Our Laboratory is a new facility that provides comprehensive laboratory services dedicated to improving patient care through accurate and timely diagnostics. We are expanding our reach and seeking a driven professional to join our team.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Healthcare Business Development Lead to spearhead the growth of our laboratory service sales. This is a crucial role for an individual with a strong background in healthcare sales, capable of identifying and securing new business opportunities, building and nurturing relationships with healthcare facilities, and establishing efficient sales frameworks and processes.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and surpass daily laboratory service sales targets.
  • Identify, prospect, and engage potential clients, primarily healthcare facilities such as hospitals, clinics, and specialised medical centres.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within target facilities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales pitches and presentations tailored to the needs of healthcare providers.
  • Negotiate terms and close service agreements with new partners.
  • Utilise the company's patient portal for efficient patient creation and billing management.
  • Proactively identify and pursue "link hunting" opportunities to expand our network of partner facilities.
  • Develop, document, and refine sales frameworks, pipelines, and operational processes to ensure scalable and sustainable growth.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive database or list of target and partner healthcare facilities.
  • Generate regular, detailed reports on sales activities, performance metrics, market trends, and partnership development.
  • Participate in video calls and other digital communication methods as required.
  • Ability to draw patient samples is a significant advantage, leveraging existing medical or laboratory knowledge.
  • Actively seek and be prepared to accept new sales targets based on performance and business needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and lead person for building and documenting partnerships within facilities.
  • Continuously make recommendations and suggest innovative tactics and strategies to enhance sales performance and operational efficiency.

Targets:

  • The primary daily laboratory service sales target is GHS 4,000.00 (Monday to Friday).
  • Performance against this target directly impacts compensation and benefits.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Monthly Remuneration: GHS 5,000.
  • Performance-Based Pay: Monthly remuneration and all allowances are subject to a performance-based pay structure. If the sales target is not met, the payout will be a percentage equivalent to the percentage of the target achieved.
  • Accommodation Allowance: GHS 600 per month (paid monthly).
  • Transport Allowance: GHS 300 per month.
  • Internet/Data Allowance: GHS 250 per month.
  • Transport Support: An office van is available for on-field activities. If the van is not utilised, the transport allowance covers related expenses.

Working Hours:

  • This role offers significant autonomy with no specified official office hours.
  • Work is primarily target-driven and requires flexibility to meet business needs and client availability.
  • The laboratory operates from 8 am to 8 pm, which may influence client engagement times.
  • No weekend work is required.

Requirements:

  • MBChB (Medical Doctor) with demonstrated sales experience OR MLSD / MSc Lab (Medical Laboratory Scientist) with demonstrated sales experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of progressive sales experience, preferably within the healthcare or laboratory services sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets or the ability to present compelling sales pitches and strategies.
  • An MBA or MSc is considered a significant advantage and will be given stronger consideration.
  • High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in creating professional reports, manuals, and other documentation, and the ability to effectively participate in video conferencing.
  • Strong understanding of medical and/or laboratory concepts.
  • Ability to adapt to and accept new sales targets as the business evolves.
