Establish and Maintain Partnerships (10%)
- Represents RTP in relevant forums and engages with local partners and stakeholders and promote RTP’s EdTech initiatives within the Ministry of Education and Universities of Education as well as organizing meetings with course coordinators, teachers, and partners to discuss project progress.
Supervision and Guidance (5%)
- Conducts performance assessments of teachers and course coordinators, implements teachers’ professional development plans and peer learning approaches including identification of gaps in project implementation and provide recommendations and solutions.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
Scope (geographical and/or functional), Impact and Autonomy
The role has a national scope and involves strategic decision-making regarding EdTech implementation. The specialist exercises autonomy in designing and executing digital learning programs and makes recommendations for improving ICT integration in teacher training.
Leadership and Staff management
The EdTech Specialist provides advisory support to the community team and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with RTP’s digital learning strategy. While the role does not have direct reports, it influences key stakeholders and guides project staff to develop and refine digital teacher training strategies, implements new technologies to enhance play-based learning methodologies including identification and integration of emerging best practices in EdTech for teacher capacity building.
Relationships & Communications: Internal / External:
- Internal: Collaborates with Program Director, MEL team, Education Specialists, and Training & Capacity Building Specialists.
- External: Engages with the Ministry of Education, NTC, Universities of Education, Ghana Education Services, and technology partners.
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, ICT, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project implementation, ICT-based education, blended learning programs and experience in partnerships with government education officials and stakeholders including proven expertise in working with LMS, SCORM files, and digital training tools.
