Lashibi Funeral Homes & Crematorium the premier funeral home in Ghana is currently recruiting to fill the following positions: Client Service Officer

Client Service Officers are the main interface between the client family and the funeral home. They play a pivotal role in delivering our service promise and must embody all that we stand for. They are an important link between our core operations and the client. Must possess the empathy and emotional intelligence to deal with clients through a very sensitive period while remaining focussed on delivering value. They will also have responsibility for driving sales (e.g. through referrals, recommendations of additional products and services etc.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with families of the deceased to discuss funeral arrangements and requests.
  • Escort family members to identify deceased on arrival at the funeral home or for pre-burial visits.
  • Explain pricing and product information to family and/or friends.
  • Schedule activities or facility use – viewing room, chapel, cemetery, crematorium and reception grounds 
  • Sell funeral services, products, or merchandise available at the funeral home 
  • Orders caskets, flowers, and other necessities from approved third-parties for funeral and memorial services.
  • Offer simple counsel and comfort to families and friends of the deceased and be able to identify the need for referral to a qualified therapist (if need be).
  • Resolve customer complaints, adherence to payment plans, or other post-service matters.
  • Make arrangements for pallbearers, hearses, and other participants in the funeral.
  • Ensures that set-up for the memorial service, wake, and funeral adheres to families wishes
  • Maintains and manage a good selection of vendors for various funeral services e.g. flowers, caskets, shrouds etc.
  • Ensure service levels are optimal at all times by maintaining a good relationship with colleagues across departments/units
  • Supervise brand presentation at all events on-site/offsite 
  • Supports sales and marketing activity according to set targets

Required Skills or Experience

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a Diploma or degree with at least 2 years Customer Service or Sales experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and pays close attention to detail.
  • Exhibits patience, empathy, and compassion.
  • Pleasant and can communicate calmly and kindly with bereaved family and friends.
  • Is familiar with proper etiquette and procedure for a range of religious or cultural funeral services.
