We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. This role requires a detail-oriented and strategic thinker with experience in nonprofit financial management, donor funding, and financial controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budgeting

  • Develop and manage annual organizational and project budgets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and donors.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights for strategic decision-making.

Financial Management & Controls

  • Ensure effective cash flow management and financial risk mitigation.
  • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Ensure financial policies align with donor and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls and fraud prevention measures.

Grant & Donor Financial Reporting

  • Track and manage donor funds, ensuring proper utilization and compliance.
  • Prepare financial reports for grants and donor-funded projects.
  • Support grant proposal budgets and donor audits.

Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure full compliance with Ghanaian tax laws, SSNIT contributions, and statutory deductions.
  • Lead external and internal audits, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Maintain updated records of financial policies, contracts, and transactions.

Financial Strategy & Business Development

  • Develop financial models to support fundraising and revenue-generating activities.
  • Provide financial guidance on consulting contracts, impact investments, and sustainability projects.
  • Optimize resource allocation for long-term financial sustainability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ACCA, or CPA preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in nonprofits, donor-funded projects, or sustainability-focused organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS), Ghanaian tax laws, and donor compliance.
  • Experience with grant management, budgeting, and financial reporting for donor-funded projects.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and financial forecasting experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
