Purpose:
Responsible for identifying growth opportunities for exploration and production according to PetroSA policies and procedures and regulatory requirements to ensure optimal production and recovery of reserves from country, develop and maintain stakeholder relations with the joint venture partners and government agencies, regulatory compliance, local staff, ensuring the alignment with the company's business development objectives and local laws within Ghana
Job Description
- Develop and execute the strategic plans to optimize PetrosA Ghana's business development (upstream and/or downstream) considering the country and region regulatory framework which is aligned to PetroSA Ghana to ensure growth of PetroSA Ghana objectives, ultimately the objective of the shareholder
- Manage the execution of the new asset portfolio management activities which include the analysis and identification of business risk including environment and social/political risks
- Manage and monitor the identification of new business leads/opportunities, preliminary evaluations and due diligence of new opportunities to determine their prospective economic viability and provide recommendations for senior management / shareholders regarding the direction of the organization in term of future new business development opportunities for achievement of business development targets
- Develop and execute the stakeholder plan to establish and maintain the relationship (e.g. Government Officials, country managers (joint venture partners) of other producing assets to ensure that the market view regarding PetroSA Ghana is improved/maintained as a professional organization with high level of integrity
- Monitor administrative function to run Country's office efficiently and effectively in line with South Africa and Ghanaian legislation and PetroSA governance e.g Policies and procedures, PFMA
- Formulate budget for individual assets/opportunities and the respective exploration / development rights and technical cooperation permits and track expenditure against these budgets and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal portfolio planning and management
- Participation in the legal commercial meetings to enable in-depth knowledge of the existing operations
