JOB FUNCTION

Under the Head of Section, successful applicants will assist duty officers in their various positions.

Responsibilities

Applicant will:

  • Assist in monitoring incoming messages on a specialized network.
  • Assist in the reception, processing and distribution of data including Geo Information and surveyed data.
  • Assist in the distribution of data and the generation of statistical reports to both national and international agencies.
  • Provide support for the officer on duty in the discharge of his/her duties.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by a superior.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification & Experience

Applicants must:

  • Possess a minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with a background in Geographic Information Systems (covering areas such as Cartography, Surveying, and/or Spatial Data Management), Computer Science, Engineering (preferably Aerospace, Geodetic, Geomatics, Computer Information Technology/Information Systems. Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
  • One (1) year post National Service experience in the above fields.
  • Applicants for selection shall pass an aptitude test(s) and oral interview(s).

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude

The applicant must:

  • Must be versatile and be able to adapt and adjust to new changes and requirements, including specialized software.
  • Possess strong communication skills (oral and written).
  • Must possess interpersonal skills and be an effective as well as efficient team player.
  • Possess good working knowledge in computer software, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be prepared to work in the shift environment including day, night, weekend and public holidays.
  • Must be prepared to work outside of Accra.
  • Be declared physically and medically fit.
  • Age: Not more than 25 years at the time of the deadline for submission of the application.
