The Payroll Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll process for a global workforce, across multiple currencies, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments and the administration of employee benefits. This role will require strong attention to detail and the use of Excel at an advanced level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate payroll activities for both local and international employees, ensuring proper application of statutory deductions, benefits, and incentives.
  • Administer multi-currency payroll systems.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth payroll processing and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead payroll reconciliations, prepare detailed reports to track payroll expenditures and align them with financial forecasts and records.
  • Manage the relationship with banking partners to resolve any payment-related issues promptly.
  • Monitor and address payroll discrepancies, troubleshooting and resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Oversee the upload process for Tier 1 and Tier 2 contributions.
  • Conduct regular payroll system audits to maintain data accuracy and integrity.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices, adapting processes as necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the payroll system on Sage300 in order to ensure data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Configure and update Sage300 to reflect changes in payroll regulations, benefits, and deductions.
  • Train and support payroll team members in the efficient use of Sage300 for payroll processing.
  • Support HR Operations in general.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or Accounting is mandatory.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Multicultural experience is mandatory.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with SAP or Sage300.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll software and systems, with the ability to manage complex payroll scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of local tax laws, labour laws, and payroll regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis, and the ability to manage large data sets effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
