Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality instruction in IGCSE and A Level Physics and Mathematics as per the Cambridge curriculum, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills while supporting students in achieving their academic goals and preparing them for higher education and careers in finance and business.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level syllabus requirements.
  • Ensure effective coverage of key topics, including financial accounting, management accounting, and principles of business finance.
  • Integrate real-world examples and case studies to enhance student understanding.

Student Assessment and Feedback:

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments, including assignments, quizzes, coursework, and mock exams.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and performance.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress.

Student Support:

  • Identify and address individual learning needs to foster academic growth.
  • Offer additional academic support through remedial sessions or mentorship.
  • Encourage students to explore careers in accounting, finance, and business.

Classroom Management:

  • Establish a respectful and positive learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and conducive space for learning.
  • Implement school policies for student discipline and engagement.

Resource Development:

  • Create and maintain teaching resources, including digital tools, practice materials, and case studies.
  • Keep up-to-date with trends in accounting education and incorporate relevant materials into the curriculum.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

  • Participate actively in departmental meetings and school-wide initiatives.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about developments in accounting education and pedagogy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent teaching standards.

Parental and Community Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and progress.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and extracurricular activities as required.

Required Skills or Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or equivalent certification is essential.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Proven experience teaching Accounts at IGCSE and A Level in an international school setting.
  • Familiarity with Cambridge curriculum requirements and assessment strategies.
  • Experience in integrating technology in the classroom to enhance learning outcomes.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and concepts.
  • Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and engage students in their learning journey.
  • Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
