--> Sahara Impact Ventures (SIV) is a Ghana-based female-owned and led investment advisory and fund management company investing in early-stage businesses at the nexus of climate change and gender disparity in Sub-Saharan Africa. The company is founded by experienced African investment professionals who share a common passion and commitment to building the ‘Just Transition’ to Net Zero.
The company exists to raise investment funds to provide patient capital and growth support to SMEs in the Global South to enable them to scale beyond their borders and impact their communities where patient capital would otherwise not have been possible.
Through our fund vehicles, we aim to address the challenges posed by climate change on food security and gender inequality while creating jobs for the youth, increasing clean energy access and improving livelihoods in our markets of focus.

Portfolio Management
- Take on board positions with portfolio companies representing Sahara Impact Ventures
- Draw on your own and team network to support portfolio companies where possible
- Build close working relationships with founding teams of portfolio companies
- Manage complex situations within the portfolio including performance management, follow-on rounds and exits
- Implementation of value-creation strategies
- Monitoring & reporting of portfolio companies including tracking of KPIs
- Act as a Sahara Impact Ventures representative in front of multiple stakeholders including investors in our funds, entrepreneurs, other VCs and corporates
Coaching more junior team members
- Coach and mentor junior team members to complement their investor skill set and make high-quality investment recommendations
- Support junior team members in executing investment-related tasks and offer training where required.
D.THE CANDIDATE
We are seeking stellar professionals with a true passion and commitment to our work to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be mentored and coached to become a distinguished venture capital/investment professional.
Typical Profile:
- 10+ years of experience at a venture capital firm, corporate finance/investment banking, private equity, reputable consulting firm or experience in setting up a successful business at scale across the countries and sectors relevant to the fund’s mandate.
- Degree in finance, economics or management. MBA/Masters degree/ related professional qualification is a plus. CFA charter holders/candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Completion of Ghana Securities Industry courses or Certificate holders is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of investment landscape and development priorities in our sectors and markets of focus.
- Outstanding analytical and financial modelling skills, and excellent commercial negotiation skills.
- Strong ability to work in a multicultural/diverse environment
- Passionate about /committed to climate finance and gender lens investing
- Confident & articulate communicator and team player
- Results-oriented and willingness and able to meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel where necessary
Location: The role is based in Accra, Ghana with hybrid work available to the team.
