Brave Ribbons Advocates (BRA) is a global initiative dedicated to improving health equity and well-being through free healthcare assistance, educational workshops, and counselling services for underprivileged communities. We collaborate with medical professionals and health advocates, empowering them to serve the community by providing essential health screenings, education, and preventive care. Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare regardless of socioeconomic status.

Position Overview

We are seeking passionate volunteer medical practitioners to join our team in Ghana. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with local communities and provide crucial health screenings directly. Responsibilities

  • Conduct free health screenings, including assessments for chronic diseases, preventative care, and health education.
  • Collaborate with the BRA team to reach underserved communities and provide necessary healthcare services.
  • Educate community members on health-related topics and promote preventative measures for chronic disease management.
  • Assist in organizing community health workshops and outreach events.
  • Maintain accurate records of screenings and health assessments conducted during outreach programs.
  • Provide support and mentorship to local health ambassadors and volunteers, sharing best practices in health education and service delivery.

Requirements

  • A valid medical qualification (MD, RN, PA, or comparable) and relevant certifications.
  • Experience in conducting health screenings and educational outreach in community settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Passion for social impact, particularly in healthcare equity and access.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with public health issues faced by underprivileged communities is a plus.
