--> JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) is a crucial member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and growth of the company. The CFO ensures that the financial resources are deployed to align with the overall business objectives of the organisation. This role involves financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cashflow management, forecasting, investor relations, and regulatory and financial reporting to ensure the company’s growth and alignment with strategic goals.
The CFO will direct investment activities, and treasury, oversee capital structure decisions, drive business performance, manage investor relations, and manage the financial risk of the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will provide strategic financial direction, drive financial performance, and collaborate with other executives to drive growth and sustainability.

- Ability to lead the finance function with a strategic vision that aligns with the company’s long-term goals
- Strong ability to mentor, coach, and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Proficient in managing financial changes within a dynamic and evolving environment
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to various stakeholders, including the executive team and board of directors
- Demonstrates commercial awareness in decision-making
Key Performance Indicators
- Achievement of financial targets, including revenue growth, profitability, and return on investment
- Effective management of costs, ensuring that the organisation operates within budgetary constraints.
- Maintenance of optimal cash flow levels to support business operations and growth.
- Ensure 100% compliance with financial regulations and timely completion of audits
- Successful management of investor relations, including fundraising and investor communications.
- Achievement of key milestones in the integration of digital finance solutions into financial operations.
Education and professional requirements
- Master’s degree in business administration, Finance or Accounting
- A qualified accountant, ACCA, CA or any other recognisable qualification
- 7-10 years’ experience (5 years of which must have been in a senior leadership position)
- Experience working in banks, telcos, international remittance companies or Fintech
- Experience working in a startup is a plus
