A vacancy exists in our Mining Department for the position of: MINE SURVEYOR

JOB PURPOSE

The Mine Surveyor will collaborate with the survey team to deliver comprehensive mine survey services to the mine production and project construction teams to achieve mine construction and production targets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures timely and accurate pickups of all project infrastructure, pits and stockpiles, for end-of-month Survey Volumetrics within the set time frame.
  • Work closely with Mining (Planning/Production), Geology and Geotech teams to carry out tasks as required by procedure.
  • Carry out prism monitoring to determine pit wall stability.
  • Ensures essential production stakeout of the pit and infrastructural designs.
  • Undertake regular site infrastructural and topographic surveys.
  • Undertake periodic pit and infrastructural pickups for updating mine plans.
  • Ensure timely pickups of all blast holes and grade control collars.
  • Ensure that the demarcation of drill and blast patterns is in conformity with blast designs in order to achieve the required drill depths.
  • Monitoring of TSF water levels for mine water balancing.
  • Assist in blast movement monitoring (OrePro and BMT)
  • Train and motivate team members to be efficient achieve set objectives.
  • Lead the Survey crew in performing daily Survey task.
  • Pilot drone operations for survey purposes

Required Skills or Experience

Knowledge

  • A Degree in Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ post-qualification work experience, two of which must be in the mining industry.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in Surpac and other related applications.
  • Proficiency in geodetic and engineering surveying principles.
  • Knowledge of topographical and underground surveying.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of mining methods.
  • Must be conversant with the Minerals and Mining Regulation, 2012 and related laws of Ghana, and able to interpret and apply these laws and regulations Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and be able to set up and operate survey equipment.
  • Must have a working knowledge in mining software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS applications for map creation and data analysis.
