Job Description
- Reports to: Executive Director
- Location: AFREhealth Secretariat, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana
- Coordinates with: Executive Director, Project Directors, Principal Investigators, and Finance, Grants, and Human Resources teams

Required Skills or Experience
Passionate about AFREhealth's mission and vision and committed to interprofessional health workforce development.
- At least 7 years of senior-level experience in designing and managing complex multi-country health projects in an international setting, with a focus on capacity building and service provision.
- A master’s degree in health professions education, program management, and public health or a related field
- Extensive experience in managing donor grants, and overseeing multi-scope subawards and subgrants in multiple countries
- High level proficiency in understanding and applying donor rules and regulations, including United States Government (USG), private sector funds, foundations, and philanthropic institutions.
- Strong technical grounding in standard project management methods and practices in international development.
- Demonstrable practical skills in financial management especially relating to grants and donor projects.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in collaborating with partners to implement consortium and program activities
Abilities/Skills:
- Excellent oral, and written communication skills including the ability to effectively present findings and analyses to donors, organizational boards and partners,
- Strong leadership qualities, and skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English; fluency in French or Portuguese, is a plus
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills and sound judgment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff and partners.
- Highly proficient in the use of technology solutions and ICT tools to effectively support operations, program and grant management.
- Be innovative, cooperative, hardworking, dependable and an excellent team player.
- Ability to develop and review work plans, donor reports, and other program management documents.
- Ability to work in a diverse, multicultural, and multi-language work environment across geographies and involving matrix complex matrix relationships.
- Skilled in providing ongoing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to support the program team to meet required deliverables.
- Be of high integrity and have a sense of confidentiality
- Be willing to take on extra responsibilities to achieve the goals/objectives
