Job Summary:
The Clinical Services Manager will provide operational leadership and direction for clinical services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving clinical excellence, improving patient outcomes, and leading quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical:
- Provide medical leadership and direction for clinical services.
- Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Collaborate with medical staff and other professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards related to clinical services.
Administrative:
- Develop and manage the clinical services budget.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of clinical staff.
- Collaborate with Management to develop strategic plans and policies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Governance:
- Provide leadership for relevant clinical governance committees.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for clinical governance.
- Ensure that clinical risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated.
- Collaborate with the hospital's governance structure to ensure effective clinical governance.
Other:
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including medical schools, research institutions, and healthcare organizations.
- Participate in hospital-wide committees and initiatives.
- Collaborate with Quality Improvement team to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the alignment of clinical services with the institution’s strategic plan and vision.

Minimum Requirements:
- Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent) plus postgraduate qualification or specialization in a relevant field – Membership of GCPS/WACPS, MBA, MHA, MPH etc.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior clinical leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving clinical excellence and improving patient outcomes.
- Permanent certification and good standing with the Medical and Dental Council of Ghana
Other knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Knowledge in NHIA GDRG/Tariffs regime.
- Knowledge of GHS patient charter and clinical protocols.
- Knowledge in Occupational Health, Safety legislation and requirements.
- Excellent corporate organizational behaviour.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex, dynamic environment.
