Rockway Oilfields Services is seeking an experienced Upstream Technical Solutions Specialist to serve as the company’s technical oil and gas upstream expert. This role is critical in driving technical excellence, enhancing client relationships, and supporting business growth through industry insights, technical writing, and project management.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager and with a dotted line to the Managing Director, the Upstream Technical Solutions Specialist will bridge technical expertise with business development to ensure seamless execution of projects and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay abreast of industry standards, emerging technologies, and product developments through engagement with suppliers, HSE, and QA teams.
  • Act as Rockway’s technical expert, providing in-depth knowledge of the company’s services and solutions.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to the team, ensuring accuracy and innovation in all deliverables.

Technical Writing and Proposals:

  • Develop tailored technical and commercial proposals, tenders, and business documents that align with client needs.
  • Translate complex technical information into compelling, client-friendly content that highlights benefits and value.
  • Ensure all pre-qualification documents, RFQs, tenders, clarifications, and opportunities are meticulously prepared and submitted on time.

Project Management:

  • Collaborate with field technicians to oversee project timelines and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Review all incoming RFQs and provide technical guidance to the team for appropriate action.

Market Research and Business Growth:

  • Conduct comprehensive industry analysis to identify market trends, client opportunities, and target markets for new business.
  • Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities in collaboration with internal teams.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business networks to foster trust and secure long-term contracts.
  • Manage all technical communications with clients and ensure alignment with their needs and expectations.
  • Oversee the company’s presence on relevant client portals and ensure compliance with submission requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, or related field).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in the oil and gas industry, with exposure to upstream operations and technical writing.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations, including equipment, technologies, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical and commercial documents for proposals and tenders.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly organized, with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with HSE and QA standards within the oil and gas industry is preferred.
