UMA is seeking to employ qualified, experienced, and motivated Rock Breaker Operator
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate rock-breaking equipment.
- Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections on equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Inspect the work area before and after the use of equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Ensure all daily checklists and reports are completed accurately and timely.
- Responsible for housekeeping surrounding the work area and dust control.
- Ensure routine maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent incidents and accidents.
- Communicate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure productivity.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and minimize damage to surrounding areas.
- Record and report any issue or incident to management for resolution.

Required Skills or Experience
- Recognized Electrical Trade Certificate through a recognized apprenticeship or institution or Minerals Commission (MINCOM) Certification
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role, preferably in a gold mining environment.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving and operating licenses (C & E Classes) and be able to drive a manual SUV.
- Must be able to operate and have experience in operating rock-breaking equipment.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to rock-breaking
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with varied tasks and responsibilities.
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Must demonstrate strong work ethics and be able to communicate courteously with co-workers.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and have the desire to learn and achieve.
- Ability to work and night rotation
- Good verbal and written communication in English.
