The Position

Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of an effective PV system, ensuring compliance with Roche’s global standards and local regulatory requirements
- By fostering transparency, consistency, and collaboration, proactively address safety needs, enabling robust PV operations and advancing Roche’s patient safety strategy within the local healthcare ecosystem
- Enable a transparent & effective local PV system
- Maintain comprehensive oversight of local PV compliance, ensuring inspection readiness and acting as the primary point of contact for Safety-related aspects internally and externally, including serving as qualified person for pharmacovigilance (QPPV) or similar, where required by local regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacovigilance hubs to ensure high-quality operational execution of safety-related activities, enabling monitoring of the safety profile of Roche products, meeting regulatory requirements, and maintaining the license to operate
- Drive the implementation of Roche safety vigilance in the affiliate, fostering a mindset of customer centricity and ensuring the delivery of value for patients
Influence and shape the local safety regulatory environment in collaboration with local pharma associations, healthcare organizations, and patient groups, fostering robust and safer healthcare systems.

Experience and Competencies
- A relevant degree (e.g., MD, life sciences, public health, or pharmaceutical medicine). Formal training in pharmacovigilance recognized by the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority
- Minimum 3-5 years in affiliate PV or related fields (e.g., medical affairs, clinical operations, medical information, clinical product development)
- Proficiency in PV and good understanding of the decision-making process in local and global PV ecosystems. Safety risk management, and integrated healthcare solutions
- Deep understanding of the local environment and proven ability to develop partnerships internally and externally, and experience influencing and negotiating with key stakeholders
- Leadership Skills
- Strategic customer-centric mindset with a strong understanding of patient journeys and healthcare systems and the regulatory landscape systems thinker, outcome-focused planner, and inspiring coach
