It is headquartered in Accra, with network offices in Tamale and Salaga.
Job Description
- Reporting to: Deputy Country Director
The objective of the position
To support policy advocacy communication and promote SEND GHANA’S programs. This position is a great opportunity if you are interested in development issues, particularly, communication of policy research advocacy to a wider audience, through a variety of channels, including policy briefs, public events, and traditional (TV, radio, print, electronic) and social media.
Duties and responsibilities
The Communication Officer is responsible for the overall planning, intensification and organization of SEND GHANA’s communication and outreach activities. This includes but is not limited to:

- Planning, editing, and supporting the publication of the Citizens Watch quarterly newsletter, success stories, policy briefs, and research reports.
- Planning media information and communications materials.
- Assisting in creating online content (website, newsletter, social media)
- Serve as media advisor to the programme team.
- Assisting in planning, organizing and managing events to support advocacy activities.
- Planning and conducting media relationship-building
- Strengthen media partnerships for the optimization of organizational goals
- Timely completion of annual reports
Required Skills or Experience
Professional Qualification and Experience
- A master's degree in Communication, project management, economics, development communication or relevant discipline or a Bachelor’s degree with considerable relevant knowledge and experience (3-5 years minimum) in a similar position will be considered.
Skills and Capabilities
- Monitoring and evaluation techniques and processes
- Data collection and management
- Analytical and research skills
- Good command of report writing in English
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer knowledge with command of MS Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office packages
- Effective communication skills for presenting monitoring findings

- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
- Time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Must be a self-motivated individual who is able to work without close supervision
- Must be willing to travel to all project areas.
