Legendary Foods is a food-tech alternative protein business based in Ghana on a mission to produce West & Central Africa's most accessible, most nutritious, and most sustainable form of animal protein, protein-based FMCG products and protein ingredients using advanced insect agriculture to rear palm larvae sustainably. Job Description

Legendary Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control for our cookie and condiment manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven track record in managing robust quality systems, ensuring product quality and safety, and driving continuous improvement.

The Quality Manager will play a critical role in implementing quality processes across raw material validation, in-process controls, finished product testing, and corrective actions - safeguarding product conformity to specifications. You will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize production efficiency while scaling quality excellence alongside business growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of at least 7 members to prepare products, product quality and manage inventory Disposition of non-conforming inventory - reject, rework or approve with deviation
• Incorporate customer complaints and feedback into quality enhancements
• Drive food safety culture through training and awareness
• Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability before delivery
• Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products
• Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues
• Spearhead establishment, implementation and maintenance of food safety systems
• Train and retrain processing staff, implement food safety protocol changes across a team and departments
• Review client, customer, and user feedback
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies
• Running quality control checks and updating quality assurance documentation
• Liaise with labs to conduct necessary lab tests
• Document & organize information such as health & safety instances, quality management system protocols, protocol changes, customer feedback
• Innovate packaging ideas to enhance the shelf lives of all SKUs
• Innovate process to optimize efficiency of personnel, ingredients & time
• Provide support to product development staff
• Provide support to business development operations

Required Skills or Experience

• A degree in Food science and technology, Food processing engineering or any related field with 5 or more years of work experience in food processing, food and beverage industry
• Must have a strong leadership experience
• Strong understanding of food safety principles
• Running food quality control checks and updating quality assurance
• documentations
• Implementation of food quality management systems such as HACCP and ISO
• Strong problem-solving skills relating to food processing, quality and safety issues
• Strong usage ability of Word and Excel
• Must have experience managing a team for a minimum of 12 months
• Must have strong verbal and oral communication
• Must have the ability to report on one’s activities in written and electronic format and the activities of their team
• Must have customer service experience
• Must be self-disciplined and have high integrity
• Food safety certifications
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
