The Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) is an independent regulatory body established by the NRA Act, 2015 (Act 895) and began operations in January 2016. The NRA has a statutory responsibility for regulating civilian use of nuclear and other radioactive materials and is preparing itself to regulate Ghana’s nuclear power programme.
Job Description
The NRA is seeking to recruit to fill various positions in its organisational structure. The NRA hereby invites qualified Ghanaians to apply for any of the positions listed below.
An Electrical Engineer for a nuclear regulatory body reviews the design, development and implementation of electrical systems and components in nuclear power plants, research reactors, and other nuclear facilities.
Key required tasks are:
- Review the design of electrical systems, including power distribution systems for nuclear processes and reviewing electrical system specifications and calculations in line with international standards such as IEEE & IEC nuclear standards.
- Oversee the safe installation, construction, modification and operation of electrical systems in a nuclear facility through analysis and inspections.

Required Skills or Experience
Minimum Education
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Bachelors degree with significant experience in electrical systems for power plants could may be considered.
Certifications & Knowledge
- Good understanding of electrical power systems, and software like ETAP, EPLAN, etc. will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 - 5-years of experience in electrical engineering with focus on power plants. Nuclear knowledge would be an advantage.
