Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill a vacancy in the post of Director of Compensation, Benefits and Pensions in the Parliamentary Service of Ghana.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Compensation, Benefits & Pensions shall provide support to the Clerk to Parliament and Management of the Service Through the coordinating Director of Compensation, benefits & pension, accounting & procurement by performing the following duties:
- Lead the formulation, review and implementation of policies and guidelines related to compensation, benefits and pension ensure alignment with national regulations and industry best practices
- Oversee the development and management of a competitive compensation and benefits structure, ensuring fair remuneration and benefits for staff and members of Parliament
- Administer the Parliamentary Service’s pension schemes, ensuring accurate computation, timely processing, and payment of pensions and retirement benefits to retired staff
- Ensure that all compensation, benefits and pension processes comply with relevant laws, regulations and parliamentary standards, including tax and social security requirements
- Provide financial oversight for compensation, benefits and pensions, preparing reports on expenditure and forecasting budget requirements in collaboration with the finance department
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as pension fund administrators, insurance providers and government agencies to facilitate seamless management of benefits and pensions
- Respond to internal and external audit queries regarding compensation, benefits and pensions and implement recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance transparency
- Lead the preparation of the budget and strategic plan of the department
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the clerk to parliament

Qualification Required & Experience
- A good first degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science or any relevant discipline from a recognized from a recognized university with a minimum of 10 years of relevant post-qualification experience plus a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 3 years of experience in a grade analogous to deputy director in a public service institution, OR
- A good first degree and a master’s degree in economics, finance, accounting, actuarial science or a related subject area from a recognized university with a minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience and at least 3 years on a grade analogous to Deputy director in a public service institution
- An applicant shall be a member in good standing of a recognized professional body such as ICA, ACCA etc
Age Limit: Except when an applicant has been in the employment of a public service institution or state agency, the applicant should not be above 55 years of age on the date of appointment to the post.
