The Client is a Bank of Ghana Licensed Specialized Deposit-Taking Financial Institution mandated to provide microfinance services to individuals and MSMEs in Ghana. The company has been operating from the Head Office in Kaneshie, Accra with satellite activities in some communities from Ashanti, Ahafo, Western North, Brong Ahafo, Bono East to the Northern Regions since January 2011.

Reports to the Chief Executive Officer

Purpose Of Position

The purpose of the role is to manage recoveries and minimize defaults in the organisation.

Job Summary

Responsible for planning and recovering defaulted loans, managing delinquent accounts, and minimizing financial losses for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Loan Recovery:

  • Identify and pursue defaulted loans.
  • Develop and implement recovery strategies.
  • Negotiate payment plans with borrowers.

2. Delinquency Management:

  • Monitor and track delinquent accounts.
  • Conduct phone calls, emails, and site visits to collect payments.

3. Risk Assessment:

  • Analyze borrower creditworthiness and loan collateral.
  • Identify potential risks and take proactive measures.

4. Communication:

  • Interact with borrowers, guarantors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • Provide updates to management and internal stakeholders

5. Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of recovery efforts.
  • Update loan files and database.

6. Legal Action:

  • Collaborate with legal counsel on loan enforcement.
  • Prepare documentation for court proceedings.

7. Reporting:

  • Provide regular recovery progress reports.
  • Analyze and recommend process improvements.

Required Skills or Experience

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

  • BA, B.Sc., B. Com, HND in any discipline including but not limited to Economics, Sociology, Accounting, Business Studies, Statistics, Management etc.
  • Persons with not less than ICA Part I, ACCA Part I etc. qualifications with 3 years working experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress.
  • Familiarity with lending regulations and laws.
