Job Description
- Department: Maintenance
- Reporting To: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to be responsible for timely repair, installation, and maintenance of air conditioners in all the assigned areas of the hotel setting.

Additionally, you will be expected to answer calls from guests who want to have their air conditioners looked at, repaired, or to have preventative or regular maintenance performed on them.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily routine air-conditions inspections to identify leakages and undertake preventive measures.
- Install air conditioners by following standard installation protocols.
- Test installed air conditioners to ensure that they are in proper working condition.
- Repair damaged and dysfunctional air-cons, heaters and coolers and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Perform maintenance activities such as cleaning AC grills and filters on installed air conditioning systems.
- Replace AC systems that are not in a fixable condition and keep records of repair works done.
- Estimate materials and supplies needed for installation purposes and submit to supervisor for requisition.
- Calibrate auto AC systems and conduct preventive maintenance of installed systems.
- Use blueprints and schematic diagrams for installation of new systems and repairing same
- Ensure maintenance and repair works are completed correctly whilst ensuring maintenance procedures and schedules are strictly adhered to.
Other
- Perform other related duties as maybe assigned.
- Respond to emergency calls as and when needed
- Follow all relevant health and safety regulations.
Work Relationships
- Coordinates with: All departmental heads and staff within the hotel

Required Skills or Experience
Educational Qualification and Experience
- A senior high school or NVTI Certificate in degree in Facility Management or Engineering from a recognised institution.
- At least 4 years of proven work experience as an AC Technician in a 3, 4 or 5-star hotel.
Skills
- Excellent AC installation and HVAC Troubleshooting skills
- Must be physically able to perform installation and repairs works
- Must possess knowledge of complex air conditioning systems and small air conditioning units
- Must be knowledgeable in electrical works with varying mechanical layouts.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds of materials and objects at a time.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to stand and move on feet for long periods of time
- Team spirit with flexibility to work on shifts, night hours, holidays, etc.
