The Opportunity:
As a Senior Backend Developer at Kofa, you’ll be architecting and leading the development of the invisible force that drives our entire energy ecosystem. Your expertise will shape the digital synapses firing across our network, orchestrating the complex dance of energy distribution, battery management, and user interactions.

What You’ll Do:
- Architect and implement robust, scalable backend systems for our Swap & Go platform
- Lead the design and development of high-performance APIs that seamlessly connect our mobile app, web platform, and IoT devices
- Develop and optimize advanced algorithms for battery tracking, energy demand prediction, and network optimization
- Design and implement secure, scalable payment systems and user authentication protocols
- Architect and build sophisticated data pipelines to process and analyze vast amounts of energy usage data
- Lead database design and optimization efforts to handle millions of transactions across our rapidly growing network
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership to the backend team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend development with overall product strategy
- Implement and maintain best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment
- Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term technology roadmap planning
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend development
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Expert-level proficiency in backend languages such as Python, PHP, Java, or Node.js
- Extensive experience with database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and performance optimization
- Strong background in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure) and serverless architectures
- Deep understanding of software design patterns, architectural best practices, and scalability considerations
- Experience leading development teams and mentoring junior developers
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing secure systems
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize complex systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Passion for clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Bonus: Experience with IoT systems, energy management platforms, or fintech applications
