JOB OVERVIEW

As a kitchen assistant/cashier, your role may involve a combination of responsibilities in the kitchen and at the front office. Here's a breakdown of what you might typically do in each role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Kitchen Assistant

• Food Preparation: Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring ingredients.
• Cooking Support: Help the kitchen staff by monitoring cooking times, flipping or stirring food, and ensuring that food doesn't burn or overcook.
• Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and keeping equipment and utensils clean and organized.
• Stock Management: Assist in keeping track of inventory, including checking stock levels, restocking ingredients, and rotating perishable items to minimize waste.
• Assisting Chefs: Support chefs and cooks in various tasks such as fetching ingredients, assembling dishes, and garnishing plates.

Required Skills or Experience

• A minimum SSCE certificate or its equivalent
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus but not mandatory
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
