The High Commission of Canada in Ghana seeks to recruit a Local Development Advisor.
Consultants applying for this position must have the following experience, knowledge and expertise:
- A master’s degree or higher from a recognised university in one of the following relevant disciplines, development studies, rural development, economics policy, agriculture economics or a related field (local governance, political science)
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in development work, at least 5 of which must be related to providing advisory services in rural/local development in Ghana.
The consultant should also have the following experience, knowledge and skills
- Demonstrated experience in providing advisory services on local development issues, including coordinating with decentralised governance institutions in programme delivery, preferably with or for bilateral or multilateral development institution
- Knowledge and experience with current government policies, programmes and approaches in agriculture and local economic development and complementarity with donor programming
- Excellent English writing skills
