To support our growing initiatives, we are seeking a dynamic and resourceful Procurement/Marketing Officer to join our team. This dual-role position is vital to our operations, combining the strategic procurement of goods and services with the development and execution of effective marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and a creative marketing approach. By ensuring efficient procurement and enhancing our public image, the Procurement/Marketing Officer will play a key role in driving the success of our organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Here are the primary duties and responsibilities of a GSA Procurement/Marketing Officer:

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases.
  • Create and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.
  • Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Negotiate the best deals for pricing and supply contracts.
  • Ensure that products and supplies are of high quality.
  • Maintain and update the list of suppliers, including their qualifications, delivery times, and potential for future development.
  • Prepare a procurement plan

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Handle all membership-drive initiatives
  • Develop a marketing strategy for the institution in line with its objectives.
  • Handle the branding of the organization.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing campaigns and communication strategies for the institution.
  • Plan and coordinate sponsorship drives.
  • Organize publicity activities.
  • Manage advertising and interactions with donors and other stakeholders.

Required Skills or Experience

Educational Background

  • Must hold a relevant Bachelor’s Degree awarded by a recognized university with at least two years of post-qualification experience.
  • Alternatively, HND holders with at least four years of post-qualification experience may be considered for the appointment.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with public procurement regulations.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  • Self-motivated with the initiative drive
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish and administer contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
  • Goal-oriented and organized team player.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge and skills in marketing.
