Driver - Ghana Science Association

As part of our commitment to excellence, the Ghana Sceince Association seek a responsible and skilled driver to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of staff, guests, and essential materials. This position requires not only driving proficiency but also a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Here are the primary duties and responsibilities of a GSA Driver:

Driving Responsibilities:

• Safely transport staff, guests, and other individuals as directed.
• Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of the vehicle.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and report any issues to the appropriate authority.
• Ensure timely vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations.
• Ensure the safety of passengers during transport.
• Load and unload goods as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Keep an accurate log of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information.
• Assist with the dispatch of documents and parcels as required.
• Support the administration team with other tasks when not driving.
• Ensure all vehicle documentation, including licenses and insurance, is up to date

Required Skills or Experience

Educational Background

• A minimum of a Senior High School (SHS) certificate

Skills and Knowledge

• Valid driver’s license at least B with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a driver.
• Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation systems.
• Knowledge of area roads and neighbourhoods.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations.
• Basic mechanical skills for minor vehicle repairs.
• Good knowledge of road signs and driving regulations.
