Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.

One person in three in the world lives in poverty. Oxfam is determined to change that world by mobilizing the power of people against poverty. Around the world, Oxfam works to find practical, innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive. We save lives and help rebuild livelihoods when crisis strikes. And we campaign so that the voices of the poor influence the local and global decisions that affect them. In all we do, Oxfam works with partner organizations and alongside vulnerable women and men to end the injustices that cause poverty.

At Oxfam in Ghana, we will tackle the root causes of social and economic inequalities and unaccountable power that violate human rights and drive poverty, injustice, and environmental destruction. We will achieve this by working with people and partners to address the systemic barriers fuelling inequality and poverty.

Oxfam commits to acting as a safe, feminist and partner-led International NGO. We will work in contexts where we can have the greatest impact. We will channel our resources to work in solidarity with allies and partners, to shape transformational programming and influencing at scale.

To lead and support the country leadership in realising a vision of making Ghana’s economic system just by ensuring that the participation in the generation of wealth and income and their distribution are gender equitable, environmentally sustainable and enable fulfilment of human rights.

Reporting to the Programmes and Policy Influencing Lead and working closely and collaboratively as a member of the Extended Country Leadership Team, the role will lead and manage Oxfam in Ghana’s just economy programme and policy influencing strategy and operational plans. The role will develop and manage relations with civil society organisations, the private sector, government, donors, and others for impactful delivery of results in a programmatic and transformative partnership approach.

This will include contributing to strengthening analysis and generating knowledge and influence for just economic models, policies and practices across the natural resource justice, climate justice and sustainable food systems objectives.
