About This Role
- To supervise the FMS Team, coordinate activities and develop solutions to improve the overall reliability and performance of persons and Mine Engineering systems.
In This Role You Will
Dispatch Planning
- Plan the biennial outlook of the Fleet Management (Dispatch) session.
- Manage the flow of information into and out of the FMS System and channel this information towards Short-Term, Medium-Term and Long-Term Planning.
- Contribute to the design and development of Dispatch processes.
- Plan and execute system upgrades and changes.
- Establish targets for tonnage, fleet performance and its life to achieve defined organization profit targets.
- Determine the required network infrastructure framework; plan and execute on the ideal network deployment and roll-out.

Health, Safety and Environment
- Deliver own prescribed outcomes and/or provide support services, by applying Newmont’s Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies and protocols.
- Comply with all HSLP, Environment and Social Responsibility requirements under Newmont’s Integrated Management System.
- Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every employee under or assigned to his / her supervision.
- Assure that safety standards are adhered to.
- Attend monthly safety inspections and meetings.
Staff Supervision
- Supervise allocated staff member(s) by:
- coordinating the work of Dispatchers, as required.
- organizing and coordinating dispatcher training and certifications.
- training, coaching and mentoring.
- enhancing communication with staff through regular feedback, contact, meetings and briefings.
Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- Bachelors’ Degree in Mine Engineering.
Additional Knowledge
- Mine Foreman Certificate of Competency.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in a fleet Management system environment, of which 1 – 2 years should be in a field supervisory capacity in the mines.
- Experience with truck dispatching systems.
- Experience with SQL report management and development.
Technical Skills
- Sound computer literacy skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), MS Project, Programming, Coding and Application Software.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience with system and database administration and management skills.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Strong planning, organizing and prioritizing skills.
- Strong IT Programming, SQL Scripting, Reporting and System Management skills.
- Knowledge User and System Administration of diverse technical mining applications.
