Role & Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems to identify issues.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, parts, or systems to restore equipment functionality.

  • Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Assemble and disassemble machinery, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
  • Implement maintenance schedules to prevent equipment breakdowns.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests to identify potential problems before they escalate.
  • Lubricate, clean, and adjust equipment components as part of preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replaced.
  • Collaborate with engineers, other technicians, and relevant departments to solve complex problems.
  • Assist in training new technicians or team members in equipment maintenance and procedures.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance the team’s overall skills.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and production losses.
  • Conduct testing and quality checks after repairs to verify proper functioning.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum HND in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role preferably in a food manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes. Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, including team members, clients, and project managers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
