Job Overview and Purpose

Reporting to the CEO, the role of the Business Development Manager will be to primarily develop and execute growth strategies and plans for MC towards the overall achievement of corporate financial goals.

Detailed Job Description

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager will include, but not limited to:

Business Development

  • Develop growth strategies and plans.
  • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Increasing client base.
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of CHP and MC’s service offerings and value propositions.
  • Writing business proposals.
  • Negotiating with stakeholders.
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs.
  • Research business opportunities and viable income streams.
  • Following industry trends locally and internationally.
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts.
  • Attend Client/Business Reviews or Engagement Overviews as needed.
  • Coordinate Pitches and Proposals for Clients with Strategy and Planning Manager.
  • Prepare new business forecast reports and track current/ongoing pipeline progress.
  • Maintain and update mandatory account documentation.
  • Participate in Strategy sessions.

Digital

  • Lead the Setting up of a Digital Desk.
  • Generating new business leads for all Digital Offerings.
  • Promoting the digital marketing capabilities of MC, and suggesting areas of improvement and maximising sales/sponsorship sign-on wherever possible.
  • Handling inbound enquiries and looking after established clients, ensuring repeat business and identifying up-selling opportunities.
  • Overseeing negotiations and ensuring pricing, profitability, operation, contract, and on-boarding requirements are achieved in all cases.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Role Requirement

The Business Development Manager must:

  • Have 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales environment, preferably in Marketing, Client Servicing, and/or digital development services.
  • Have proven Project Management, Business Development and Prospecting Results.
  • Have established networks.
  • Have experience in selling services. Marketing and Web selling services experience is a plus.
  • Have experience in lead generation and conversion.
  • Have strong creative vision with an understanding of business objectives.
  • Have strong conceptual skills and a highly developed ability to bring those concepts to life through ideas that can be executed across continuously evolving digital platforms.
  • Always execute work to the highest of standards and craft.
  • Be able to comprehend sophisticated strategic briefs and develop work that’s on strategy and is consistent with the brand character.
  • Be at home in high-pressure pitch environments
  • Be able to Multi-task.
  • Be strong in both creative and analytical thinking.

Skills and Competencies

The Business Development Manager must:

  • Have strong ability to work independently and/or with teams.
  • Be highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Have excellent writing and strong communication skills.
  • Be creative and enjoy working within a mission-driven, results-driven and creative environment.
  • Have proven ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Be proficient in using New Concepts in proposal writing and presentations
  • Have strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Have strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Have good knowledge of administrative processes.

Qualifications

  • Good First Degree in Business Administration or Marketing
  • A Post-Graduate Degree is a Plus
  • Other Relevant Certification in Client Servicing
