St. Francis College of Education, Hohoe, is a renowned public Catholic Teacher Education institution established by the Colleges of Education Act, 2012 (Act 847). The College is affiliated with the University of Cape Coast as part of the teacher education reform.

The vision of the College is to be a reputable College of Education for training world-class science and mathematics teachers to teach in basic schools in Ghana and beyond. The mission of the College is to create an environment that promotes students' holistic development, teaching and learning, as well as research.

Job Description

The procurement officer's responsibilities include

  • overseeing the upkeep and updating of an accurate database of consultants, service providers, and suppliers,
  • creating procurement plans for goods, works, and services for the College,
  • assisting in the implementation of systems and procedures to ensure value for money in entity procurement activities, and assisting in the process of advertising tenders.
  • The Procurement Officer shall perform his/her duties in accordance with the relevant laws and the Statutes of the College.

Required Skills or Experience

  • Applicants must hold a minimum of Masters’ Degree in Procurement Management or related areas. A Professional Qualification in Procurement or related area is required.
  • Applicants must have served as a Senior Assistant Procurement Officer in a College of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least four (5) years.
  • Applicants must be computer literate and must be abreast with relevant software applications.
  • Staff in this grade shall be required to show high qualities of sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, precision and professionalism in their area of specialization.
