AfricaOwn.com is the world’s growing online news and information portal, which seeks to inform, engage and empower the world. We’re seeking to employ nationwide in the following positions: Regional News Reporters

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Generates story ideas and follows leads from local and international sources to plan, arrange and conduct interviews and writes stories and features in the public interest
• Works to oral and written instructions and to established procedures
• Covers and reports general news events and breaking news in real-time
• Pitches story ideas to editors for follow up
• Reports on assigned beats, such as Law and Order, Peace and Security, Environment and Agriculture, on a daily basis
• Does live reports from the field and covering special assignments in the Districts
• May specialize in any area and be designated accordingly
• Contributes to video, online and social media content
• Performs any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
  
  

Qualification Required & Experience

• Diploma in Journalism or Mass Communication from an accredited institution.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and understands at least one Ghana Language
• Strong writing skills and ability to convey information in a clear, concise, and conversational manner
• Excellent live reporting skills and strong on-camera presentation skills
• Should be able to undertake standup media
• Strong research skills, including the ability to navigate online search engines
• Critical thinker, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Radio presenters are highly encouraged to apply.
