The Data Analyst/Programmer at Lincoln Community School evaluates, designs, implements and maintains the school’s core information systems primarily Toddle, ManageBac, iSAMS, OpenApply, and Sage Accounting. The postholder also uses BI tools to produce and interpret data from these core systems and provides the primary desktop and software-related technical support for problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Provides in-house expertise and technical support to end-users on Learning Management and Student Information systems and software-related issues.
  • Identi?es, researches, and resolves technical problems, working with outside vendors/technical support as needed, and documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate database systems and user needs to provide recommendations and solutions to parallel the overall vision and mission of the school.
  • Develops strategies for, and manages the implementation of database consolidations to streamline e?ciencies as needed throughout the school.

  • Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, integrity and security of the school’s in-house data management systems; Toddle, ManageBac, iSAMS, OpenApply, and Sage Accounting.
  • Performs data entry and oversees the data entry process as needed.
  • Trains sta? on the use of the school’s standard software applications/databases, as needed (Toddle, ManageBac,iSAMS, OpenApply, Sage Accounting, etc.).
  • Develops and produces accurate and timely routine and special reports, retrieves data as needed and creates and produces specialist reports as needed.
  • Oversees day-to-day integrity of database and database procedures, which may include conducting weekly and monthly audits of data to con?rm the use of accurate entry processes; identifying and eliminating duplicate records; archiving records with no activity for a speci?ed period, and maintaining users' security settings.
  • Conducts all global changes and/or data imports to maintain data, and periodically eliminates obsolete query, export and report parameter settings.
  • Analyzing data using statistical techniques and providing reports.
  • Prepares reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction.
  • Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role or position.
  • Hands-on experience using data visualisation software tools such as R and Python, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, RapidMiner, KNIME, Power BI, Apache Spark, QlikView, Talend, and Splunk.
  • Knowledge and experience in using programming languages like SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, and Python.
  • Technical pro?ciency in database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.
  • Experience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of using Microsoft O?ce® products, speci?cally Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint, and ability to train end-users to intermediate and advanced levels.
  • Adept at supporting Microsoft and Apple applications, computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Hands-on experience and skills in Coding (HTML/CSS3), Debugging, Programming (JavaScript, PHP, ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, jQuery, C#, SQL, Java), Analytical Skills, Web Development and API.
  • Experience with Toddle, ManageBac,iSAMS, OpenApply, SNAP, and Administrator Plus preferred.
  • Strong analytic skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate signi?cant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to ?nd solutions.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, with superior problem resolution and analytical skills.
  • High level of interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to e?ectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Education and Certi?cations

  • University degree in Information Technology or in a related ?eld.
  • Oracle Certi?cations.

Work Conditions

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
    Dexterity of hands and ?ngers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals and printers.
