Full Job Description - Read Carefully
Responsible for our core network and infrastructure, this includes the support, operation and maintenance of both the service and hardware of elements that make up this infrastructure (eg EIR, UPG, PG, CUDB, HSS-FE, HLR-FE), and new elements as they are delivered by Ericsson.
Job Responsibility
- Working to Service Level Agreements, but also required to be part of a 24/7 on call rota,
- supporting the HLR network 365 days a year to provide the technical lead, input and direction to fault situations.
- Provide timely response to the failure of a service or system.

- Assist incident management to resolve incidents, providing out of hour’s standby cover and callout support.
- Communicate major problems to management, team members, and the user community and product owner.
- Assist with root cause analysis to identify corrective actions and permanent fixes, challenges RCA delivered by other parties to ensure it is correct.
- Will as required, design, sanity check and Implement work around to resolve a problem.
- Deliver reactive management, responding to support requests, typically via ‘Remedy’ or WPM.
- Analyze issues and correct underlying problems working across elements and services to gain the bigger picture.
- Work across other support teams to drive a fix to problem.
- Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rota.
Professional / Techical Skills / Core Competencies
- HND or HTEC or higher in related discipline is desirable
- Operational experience on complex systems.
- Operational experience of IT/Telecom support.
- Experience of working on large installations using own initiative.
- Experience working with Troubleshooting methodology.
- Good knowledge of EIR, CUDB, HSS-FE, HLR, C7, Sigtran, SIP, RTP & IMS within the Vodafone Network
- Excellent understanding of switching network (including EIR, CUDB, HSS-FE, HLR, C7, Sigtran, SIP, RTP & IMS).

- Good working knowledge of ZenPM, Geoprobe and Wireshark tracing functionality
- Good working knowledge of Linux, Putty and or equivalent terminal interface
- Experience in Bash, python, XML, MYSQL is an advantage
- Nice to have Java, Kubernetes, POST, REST
- knowledge of CCDM, CCSM and EDA2 for 5G core standalone is an Advantage
