The ideal candidate is a highly resourceful and innovative developer with extensive experience in PHP Laravel Developer. You must also possess a strong knowledge of API development and Javascript.
Responsibilities
API Development
- Design, build and maintain APIs and tools that power Broadspectrum’s suite of applications.
- The Backend/API Development Engineer will communicate designs to fellow engineers.
- Understand the data that power our applications, and be able to propose appropriate data models for new features.
- Build new services from scratch, as well as maintain existing applications.
- Committed to good engineering practice of testing, logging, alerting and deployment processes.

Back End Development
- Creating maintainable, adaptable, scalable, defect-free code using software development best practices and coding standards (i.e., software reuse, refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, secure development, and test driven development).
- Participating in requirements, detail design, and code/unit test case peer reviews.
- Developing and maintaining design models based on new or updated requirements.
- Developing and unit testing to add features/functionality to the existing product based on functional requirements
- Performing peer-reviews of code written from other engineers.
- Investigating problem tickets with the REST API product.
- Working in a team environment to follow existing standards, asking questions, sharing knowledge, and providing requested documentation.
- Working closely with the testing team to provide troubleshooting support during development phases.
- Supporting integration, functional, system, and customer acceptance testing.
- Adding information to defect tracking systems as problem tickets are being worked.
- Providing time estimates for future work when necessary.
- Reviewing, providing feedback, and remediating as needed identified security vulnerabilities found during vulnerability scanning.
- Define and communicate technical and design requirements
- Provide training, help and support to other team members
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Learn about new technologies make recommendations to the company
- Stay up to date with current best practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of designers, developers and system administrators
- Participate in conferences and educational programs

Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in web development and software design
- Expertise in front-end technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS), PHP frameworks, and MySQL databases
