The Data Warehouse Specialist at Vodafone Ghana is responsible for the daily performance, scalability, security and support of the BI Data Warehouse and will be involved in the design, planning and development of the Data Warehouse, as well as troubleshooting system issues.
Sourcing for data and ensuring the completeness, accuracy and consistency of data in the data warehouse through daily Daily Dara Quality and completeness checks and resolving any data quality issues. Develop, manage, schedule, and document data warehouse operations and tasks, including archival, security, backup, and aggregate table creation.
Provide guidance to database administrators, for troubleshooting escalated issues and support regular/emergency requests during production issues. Collaborate with data modeller, metadata specialist, business analysts and ETL team members to resolve complex data design issues/provide optimal solutions that meet business requirements/benefits system performance.

Job Responsibility
- Ensure the correctness and consistency of data in the data warehouse
- Perform Daily Dara quality checks and resolve any data quality issues.
- Perform daily loading and completeness check of data into the Data Warehouse.
- Daily Monitoring of jobs and ensuring the successful running of processes and procedures in the DWH.
- Liaising with the regulatory bodies and security agencies as well as third parties to deliver their data needs in accordance with the company policy.
- Develop a deep knowledge and implement Data Warehouse Model changes in line with the BI Architecture.
- Champion continuous improvement and optimization of the Data Warehouse.
- Translate user data requirements into a logical database design.
- Creating databases and database objects such as tables, tablespaces, synonyms, views, triggers, stored procedures, defaults, domains, and indexes. Maintain the tables as necessary for optimization.
- Ensuring the correct application of the business rules through data query after the data is loaded into the Data Warehouse
- Develop & manage deep engagement with relevant stakeholders
- Coach junior team members in relevant areas through deep knowledge in one or more technology areas.

Professional / Technical Skills
- Degree in Engineering / Computer Science
- Excellent SQL skills & Good knowledge of relational and object database models.
- More than 3 years’ work experience in a business and technology-focused IT environment
- Over 5 years experience in BI DWH and Architecture support.
