Our electronic payments platform allows the convenience of paying for a growing portfolio of services in Ghana.
Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer responsible for managing the interchange of data between servers and front-end interfaces. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your co-workers into the application. A basic understanding of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well
Responsibilities
1. Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
2. Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
3. Build reusable code and libraries for future use
4. Optimise the application for maximum speed and scalability
5. Implement security and data protection solutions
6. Design and implement data storage solutions
7. Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features

Skills and Qualifications
1. 3+ years working experience in Back-End Development
2. Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
3. In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
4. Proficient knowledge of PHP
5. Hands on experience with programming languages like Java, Ruby and Python is an advantage
6. Working knowledge of CMS framework
7. Excellent analytical and time management skills
8. Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
9. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT
